On the Road At Last!

First, thanks for all the well wishes and even gifts! A delightful surprise.

The word that comes to mind today? Infrastructure! The roads are a mess. No charming parkways and byways for us. Since our rig is 11 feet high, we have to take Rte 95–oh and we are pulling (hauling?) a 5 x 8 UHaul trailer with house stuff to take to Nick and Jamie’s new place. It is always tricky getting through NYC and today, mid day on a Friday, was no exception. Mike is doing a great job navigating through traffic and high winds. This is our one long day on highways and it’s so worth it to see the “kids”!

The dogs did not appreciate the stop and go traffic and bumpy roads but they have settled in now. Not having to get food at the place where you get gas is as good (and easy) as I had hoped. The bluetooth speaker our Office Manager Nicole recommended has saved the trip–so much clearer over the road noise! Cranking new Springsteen on the Jersey Turnpike in our RV in our 60th year–that reads like a bad SNL skit.

  1. Safe travels you two kids. What an adventure. Glad that your getting the hard part over first.
